Botanicals

When a beam of sunlight shines through a leaf, it affects how we see its colour. It’s no longer just green. It is so many shades of translucent colour.

I love houseplants and believe bringing nature indoors can have a positive influence on wellbeing. Art can have the same effect, particularly if it is full of natural elements, light and colour. When I paint botanicals, I try to ensure they are imbued with sunlight, to both illuminate the space and also positively improve mood, even on the dreariest of days.
